Well I am rather proud that I managed to set up a youtube video channel I want to tell the whole world about it...twice!

New Music Alert and Its On Soundcloud Too!

Dear Blogger Readers

I have spent the summer of 2017 writing and recording new songs here at home in Southport near Liverpool.Just me and my guitar and my simple home studio set up and laptop and hey presto.
Well a song I am quite sure you will like and I am very pleased to be able to share it with you is one I wrote called "Love The One You Love".
What is this song all about?I start all of my songs with a guitar riff and sequence of chords...sometimes I have several guitar pieces that I have recorded very simply onto my iPhone and made a note that they may be good for a future song.
That's what I did with this song...worked on a shape and middle 8 and bridge...then when the song of only guitar chords was planted in my head an idea for the mood and then the lyrics of the song begins to grow.
With "Love The One You Love" I wanted to do a song about love of course but looking at the theme from a perspective of if there is somebody you love then show them you love them no half measures!No messing around with your love...make it clear and really love the one you love so to speak...well the lyrics tome to me over a 2 hour period of time...approx...and with a bit of chopping and changing the lyrics fit the song shape and mood of the sound.
Then its time to record.I set up with one microphone into my digital recording box which is plugged into my laptop.Using Audacity software I create the song usually on no more than 4 tracks...after recording I play around with the sound until I get it sounding as I want it...then it goes to LANDR for mixing into stereo WAV,then onto music platforms like SOUNDCLOUD...Heres the link to my song

Of course I hope you like it!...I think in all the song took about 5 hours from start to finish of recording...then another hour putting it on my twitter and facebook and google plus accounts...and bandcamp too.
All in all I keep the process of writing and recording my songs as simple as possible without too many frills.I am always trying to improve.Always learning something new and the songwriting process is great therapy too.
